Ten Week 7 Stats

Another Football Sunday has already come and gone. The season and life are flying.

Many star fantasy football players were on a bye in week 7, but Fantasy Football does not stop. Here are ten stats that caught my eye that could impact your fantasy teams moving forward.

  1. D’Ernest Johnson had 22 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown, adding 2 catches on 2 targets for 22 yards– I did not expect such a big game from the Browns starting running back in week 7. Johnson looked like the real deal against a tough defense. Johnson should figure to see a role as long as Kareem Hunt is on IR. Do not drop Johnson, even if Chubb returns in week 8.
  2. Ja’Marr Chase had 10 targets, Tee Higgins had 15 targets– The Bengals secured themselves as one of the top teams in the AFC with a dominate week 7 victory over the Ravens. Rookie wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase had 8 catches for 201 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets. Tee Higgins had 7 catches for 62 yards on 15 targets. These are the two Bengal wide receivers to own moving forward. Watch out for Cincy.
  3. Marquise Brown had 14 targets– Even with Rashod Bateman in the lineup, Hollywood Brown is the Ravens number one receiver. He had 5 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets. Keep riding the Hollywood Brown train moving forward.
  4. Terry McLaurin break-out– McLaurin had 7 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown on 12 targets in week 7. McLaurin was due for a big game and delivered. Ryan Fitzpatrick may be under center for Washington moving forward, this should help McLaurin’s fantasy value moving forward.
  5. Kyle Pitts has arrived– Pitts had a fantastic week posting a 7 catch, 163 yard line on 8 targets. Pitts is a top 7 tight end moving forward. If you held onto him after a slow start, you did well for yourself.
  6. Myles Gaskin gets 19 touches– I’m still super confused on what the Dolphins are trying to accomplish when they do not give Myles Gaskin the ball. He is a playmaker, he makes things happen with touches. In week 7, Gaskin had 15 carries for 67 yards, adding 4 catches for 10 yards and a touchdown on 4 targets. Gaskin is the best back in Miami, the team just needs to feed him on a weekly basis.
  7. Kalif Raymond had 6 catches for 115 yards on 8 targets– Raymond is an intriguing fantasy option moving forward. He is essentially the number one wide receiver for the Lions. This team will be throwing the ball often, take a look at Kalif Raymond on waivers.
  8. Foster Moreau had 6 catches for 60 yards and a touchdown on 6 targets- One of the biggest surprises of week 7 was the absence of tight end Darren Waller. His replacement, Foster Moreau, had a great week 7. If Waller were to miss another week, Moreau is an extremely intriguing tight end option, in a world where tight end production is thin.
  9. Khalil Herbert has 23 touches– The Bears activated Damien Williams off the COVID list late in the week, he was active. Even with his presence, the Bears gave most of the running back work to Herbert. We will see if this had to do with Williams missing practice time, or if Herbert has earned himself the starting role with David Montgomery on IR. Keep an eye on this situation.
  10. Elijah Mitchell has 18 carries for 107 yards and a touchdown– The starting running back for the San Francisco 49ers is Elijah Mitchell. If you held onto him through his shoulder injury and bye week, it seems like it will pay dividends. The 49ers had great success running the football early, but abandoned that game-plan as the game progressed. Mitchell is a top 15 running back moving forward.
